With Blue Star Performance there is NO job too large or too small. We do partial to complete restorations.
With any restoration it's always best to start with a car nobody has messed with or one that has not been disassembled yet. We will completely strip and disassemble all components of the car. We then carefully tag and organize all the removed parts.
Pieces that are chrome, plastic or plated will now be sent out to be redone. Then the rebuilding process gets under way on components like the engine, trans, power-steering, rear axle, etc.
Bodies that have rust and are in need of sheetmetal replacement will require extra hours to get the complete car in paint. For this we offer a soda-strip option which we highly recommend to our customers.
The car, after being totally disassembled, is then put on a rotiserie and then striped further. We do the entire outter shell, under side, engine and trunk compartments, inside the fenders and rear wheel wells.
Now starts the sheetmetal repair or replacement. We go as far as to replace framerails, floors, braces, firewalls, cowels, inner fenders, roof, quater panels and rockers.
Noted that not all projects will need this indepth repair, but some do. We can handle even the most extensive job. This is where the hours of shop time are greatly consumed.
Once new metal is welded in and repaired we start priming and sealing the car. We only use the finest quality materials. We have an in house complete PPG mixing station and climate controled heated bake booth.
When you choose to go with the full blown rotiserie job the quality of paint on the underside, wheelhouses and back sides of the fenders is as shinny, deep and glossy as the exterior of the shell. Crisp, clean body lines and a gorgeous paint job are the result of the many hours of preperation. You'll be glad we spent the time to do it right.
After the wet sanding and buffing comes our favorite part; the assembly stage. We start out with putting together sub-assemblies, K-frames and suspension, heater cores, dash frames and components, fuel and brake line systems. It all goes much smoother up on one of our hydraulic lifts.
We also pride ourselves with installing complete interiors. We feature Legendary Auto Interiors kits which include headliners, carpet, seat covers and more. We will even correctly color match and dye your plastic and vinyl pieces from years of fading.
During the restoration process we can help by providing many of the needed parts from NOS to reproduction. We also have a well endowed parts room of used original parts to select from.
